The Mercouri Estate is located in the western Peloponnese, the plateau of the Ichthis Peninsula, near the village of Korakochori. It is an old, large estate with an 150 year-long-history in the production of wine, olive-oil and raisins.
It was founded in 1864 by Theodoros Mercouris, who originated from North Epirus and the Peloponnese Up until today it belongs to the Mercouri family.
A tour which is completely different than any other excursion. I definitely recommend it and I'm sure that you'll enjoy it. I'm for at least 4 days of theweek there so I know everyone and I'm able to arrange a tour. You can have a guided tour provided by the winery plus to taste several kinds of wine.
A complete tour takes about 1 hour and 15 min or you can do a shorter for about 45 minutes. The secret is to avoid the tour buses which are more and more every year in order to go there and enjoy it. Of course this is not possible all the days when there are a lot of cruise ships at the port. When the guides of the winery are busy I'm able to guide you into the winery.
