Every year on 10 February, the city of Pyrgos celebrates the patron Saint Charalambos. In the sports facilities of Santa Barbara on one big trade fair which is flooded with crowds.

A few words about the wonders of the Saint ...

 The rescue of the inhabitants of Pyrgos from the terrible epidemic of plague in 1860 was eradicated from Agios Charalambos after fervent prayer to him and request. They say that the citizens saw amazing sight. The Saint with the rod was pushing a white cotton-like cloud in the sky until he threw it in the sea. It was the disease that stalked Saint Charalambos. Saint Haralambos also attributed the expulsion of the deadly flu epidemic of 1918 in Ilia, because of which thousands of people were dying for months.
